About Votre Tuteur
Personalized tutoring, with a clear process
Since 2019, Votre Tuteur has supported students from elementary school through CEGEP with an approach centred on their needs, pace and way of learning.
- Online sessions throughout Greater Montreal.
- A match based on the subject, level and way of learning.
- A session report sent to parents after every meeting.
Tutoring is delivered online by default. An in-home session is possible when a tutor can travel to your area.
Our mission
Help the student understand, then become more independent
Our role is not to do the work for the student. We want to help them name what is getting in the way, rebuild fragile concepts and find a way of working they can use on their own.
Tutoring therefore begins with listening. Before proposing a method, we seek to understand the subject, level and goal, as well as how the student reacts when they hesitate or make a mistake. That context is what makes truly personalized support possible.
For parents, our mission also includes clarity. The report sent after every session explains what was covered, what is moving forward and what still needs attention.
The right support does not replace the student: it gives them the bearings they need to move forward on their own.
Our values
Four principles that guide every tutoring relationship
They shape the match, the sessions and the way we communicate with families.
Listen before proposing
Two students at the same level can have very different needs. We start with the real situation, not a ready-made formula.
Respect the student’s pace
Understanding sometimes takes a detour. The tutor adjusts the explanation without making the student feel they should already know.
Stay clear
Priorities, pricing and the next step should be understood before anything begins. Follow-up remains readable throughout the support.
Prove rather than promise
We describe our process and publish only verifiable Google reviews, with no guaranteed grade and no invented success statistic.
Our approach
A visible process, from the need to the follow-up
Personalization is more than a slogan: it has to show up in concrete steps.
Understand the situation
We gather the level, subject, goal and availability, then clarify with the family what is truly getting in the way.
The form is a starting point. We only propose a match once the student’s needs and context have been clarified.
Choose and screen the tutor
Command of the subject matters, but so do experience with the requested level and the ability to explain clearly.
Every tutor goes through an interview, provides their diplomas and submits a criminal record check before their first match.
Support and adjust
The first session clarifies the priorities. The next ones strengthen concepts and work habits at the student’s pace.
A report is sent to parents after every session so that the work and the next priorities remain visible.
Our vision
Support that remains useful after the session
We want tutoring to help students regain a sense of control over their schoolwork: understand instructions more clearly, explain their reasoning, plan a study block and know what to do when they get stuck again.
Online tutoring gives families in Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, the South Shore, the North Shore and the West Island the same access without limiting the choice of tutor to a postal code. When a tutor can travel, in-home tutoring remains an option.
This vision is not built on a guaranteed grade. Results depend on several factors, including the student’s work and school context. Our responsibility is to provide a thoughtful match, suitable explanations and transparent follow-up.
Online should never mean distant: the relationship, listening and trust remain at the centre.
The next step
Let’s start by understanding what your child needs
Tell us the subject, level and what is getting in the way. We can then look for the profile that fits best.
No payment and no credit card are required to send a request.
