The rules for using our site: content accuracy, free resources, intellectual property and Quebec governing law. Read them before you get started.

Read this first: a working draft, not a final agreement
Like the privacy policy, these terms of use are a working draft. They have not yet been reviewed by a legal advisor.
Before the site goes live, a legal advisor has to review them and adjust them to what the business actually does: in particular service agreements, payment terms, and sessions held in a student’s home — liability, insurance, and cancellation once a tutor has already travelled.
Until then, this text is a starting point for discussion and creates no binding commitment.
What this site and these terms cover
This site presents the tutoring services offered by Votre Tuteur to students across Greater Montreal: sessions online and, when a tutor accepts the travel, sessions in the student’s home. It lets you request a match with a tutor, apply to work as a tutor, and read our study resources.
By browsing the site or filling in one of its forms, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, we simply invite you not to use the site.
These terms cover the site itself. They do not replace the service agreement signed with a family or the contract signed with a tutor: if the two ever differ, the signed agreement prevails.
Accuracy of the content
We write our pages and resources carefully, based on the Quebec school curriculum. That curriculum, the Ministry exams and admission requirements do change from one year to the next.
The content of this site is offered for information. It does not replace advice from the student’s teacher, their school administration, a guidance counsellor or a health professional.
If you spot an error or something out of date, write to us: we correct it quickly and show the revision date.
Intellectual property of our resources
The texts, sheets, exercises, templates and visual elements we publish on this site belong to Votre Tuteur or are used with their author’s permission. They are protected by copyright.
As we publish free resources, you may read them, print them and, where a file is offered, download them for the personal use of a student, a family or a classroom group. You are also welcome to spread the word by sharing the link to the original page.
You may not resell them, republish them on another site, fold them into a commercial offer, or strip out the credits. For any other use — institutional use in particular — write to us: we are glad to answer permission requests.
The names of schools, organizations and programs quoted on this site are cited for reference and remain the property of their owners.
Expected behaviour
We ask three simple things: give accurate information in the forms, treat tutors and staff with respect, and use the site in good faith.
Recording a session, in picture or in sound, without the agreement of everyone present is not allowed. Neither is giving access to a session to someone who is not enrolled in it.
You may not try to reach parts of the site that are not meant for you, interfere with how it runs, extract its content automatically, or post illegal, hateful or misleading content on it.
We can refuse or suspend access to the site and to the services when these rules are not respected.
No guarantee of school results
We commit to the quality of our work: how we select tutors, how sessions are prepared, and the follow-up we send to parents. We do not commit to a grade.
A student’s progress depends on many things: the time spent studying, how regular the sessions are, what is happening in class, the subject, and the starting point. Nobody can honestly promise a higher average, a passed exam or an admission.
The site is offered as is. We do what is needed to keep it available and secure, without being able to guarantee uninterrupted service, particularly during updates or when a supplier has an outage.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the service evolves or when the law changes. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
If a change is significant, we will announce it on the site. Continuing to use the site after a new version is published means you accept that version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec. Any dispute about the site or the services will be brought before the courts of the judicial district of Montreal, unless the law provides another remedy.
The site exists in French and in English. If the two versions ever differ, the French version prevails.

Votre Tuteur has no office open to the public: every request comes through email. Sessions are held online and, when a tutor accepts the travel, in the student’s home.
